This is what I typically carry in my pockets most days. I have a fuller load out in a sling bag that I take depending on the day’s activities, usually if I’ll be out and about with the dogs.

  • Old Hound slip and San Mai knife with titanium frame, desert ironwood scales and pearl inlay. (Love this knife!!)
  • Handkerchief
  • Street brass Zippo with refillable butane insert
  • Grav dugout set
  • Car key
  • Modern Carry slim leather card wallet
  • House and mailbox keys

Not pictured:

  • Phone and smart watch.

I wish it was more normal for men to carry bags/ purses or fanny packs etc all the time. Both casually and professionally.

Man purse IS how I execute my EDC. It's great to have a bag that I (generally) always know has my wallet, keys, and things that I need for going out, as well as more circumstantial stuff like gum, cleaning wipes, and an umbrella. I got a $20 one on Amazon that was fine, but eventually replaced it with a much nicer bag from 5.11 Tactical. I have gotten some judgment about it, but most people either don't care or also think it's cool. I may have made a few converts even?

Anyway. Man purse. Highly recommend. Never going back.

I bought a really nice EDC bag from alpakagear. Well made and doesn’t break the bank. A few of my coworkers will likely become customers shortly too.

Just go for it! I’m seeing it more and there’s no reason to carry a huge backpack when you only need space for a handful of things.

I got a waxed canvas cross body sling bag that carries everything I need with some space to add on for one offs.

In my bag is:

  • Waxed canvas tool roll with my late grandfathers Gerber multitool, Schafer Old Timer knife, knipex 125, sharpie, pens, field notebook and flashlight

  • Waxed canvas pouch with mini first aid kit (supplies for me and the dogs), vetwrap, usb wall adapter, multi type charging cord, and power bank

  • 32 oz. Nalgene with water

  • Collapsible dog bowl

  • dog poop bags and glasses cleaning cloth in the small pocket

  • clipped in different spots is a locking carabiner for leash hooking and used poop bag holder with clip

I carry it less this time of year. It’s getting cooler and the dogs don’t need water in the winter weather like in the summer. Plus, I have most of the stuff I’d need from my bag in the cars winter kit and some winter specific stuff.

I just keep stuff in my car, never too far away from my car if i'm out

Same, the bag is usually for hiking with the dogs.

I occasionally see men carrying fanny packs over their shoulder like a sling pack.

If I didn't have a decades long love affair with cargo pants I might do the same thing.
