It is disrespectful to hard working players that have been here longer. Saliba, Saka, or Martinelli should be captain. I understand he brings experience, but it just seems like Arteta has favorites.
If a player takes the mantle to lead, then they should be captain. Ødegaard was here shorter than Saka etc. as well, but he's a fine captain. Saka took it from Eddie. Jesus took it almost immediately.
For sure. Longevity is an awful, awful reason to make someone a leader. Some people have leadership qualities and some don't. It can be learnt, but not overnight.
