You can also use Redirector , and add a rule that automatically replaces https://www.reddit.com/r/* with https://old.reddit.com/r/$1. Same effect, but you can also add rules for other redirects, too; for instance, I redirect AMP links from a local news site and a couple tech sites to the canonical link for that article. And up until they broke it, I was redirecting Slack links so I didn't get hung up on the "open in app?" nag and it would just open in the browser.
