To counter, there's also such a thing a political capital. No matter what you want to do, it's gonna cost. And no matter how righteous your cause, that capital is finite. Or, as we used to say, pick your battles.

Some costs on this one (which I'm pulling out of my butt):

May motivate more Trump voters to get to the pools.
May engender rage among some Coloradans making them more conservative leaning than they were.

This is a fight we have to have though, no matter the cost.
