Suggestions for simple card game (self.boardgames)

I am looking for a simple card game that would be fun for the elderly and at the same time would break the monotony of traditional card games, that they are currently playing. Preferably something internationally popular so it is easy to buy in the EU.

Coloretto is one of my favorite card games. It's simple, but there's a lot of fun strategy in balancing 'protect my interests' and 'watch out for others getting something too good or taking what I want' with the limited single action per turn
