Had a short stay in a Rome AirBnB that went wrong. And (surprise /s) AirBnB is not a fair mediator between the Host and me, the Client.

I want to look for outside help but googling/searching on the internet is flooded with Airbnb SEO results and grifter blogs.

Can anyone recommend me on how to look for help on this?

I imagine there are people in Rome willing to help me navigate this as I don't yet know what is the best curse on dealing my case.

In any case, so far what I've learned is that Airbnb and the likes are taking advantage of the caos of non-existing quality standards.

Unlike hotels where regulations and star ratings allow you to know what to expect from a short term accomodation deal.

Offers on such Airbnb sites will keep getting worst as the conscientious hosts have to compete with the unscrupulous. Beware. You will pay for your assumptions of fairness.

AirBNB is the problem, and by using it, you are part of it. It's simple. Just use a hotel.

A hotel isn't going to give my group a kitchen or common area for competitive prices ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

Hotel suites are way more expensive for groups.

Hotels aren't going to screw with the housing market. They're also regulated, meaning they have legal obligations towards their customers. There's also proper house/apartment rentals, as well as BnBs outside of AirBNB so one can avoid supporting that awful company and all the shady practises it comes with.

The idea behind AirBNB was to offer a platform where people could let their spare rooms and whatnot easily. That's not what AirBNB is today. Today it's a cancer.

So I should spend thousands of dollars more, because the housing market is screwed up? Well I'm sure you would definitely do that if it were you money but I'm not that rich to be able to piss money away because local governments can't figure their zoning and regulations out.

You do understand that if you don't contribute, somehow, to the solution, you're part of the problem. Do you?

On what I've asked, on the post and on the arguments I made to you, you haven't answered or addressed directly any. Any.

Listen to others. Think with others.
