Thanks for posting the daily check in. I'm working on a bot to do this automatically every day.

I had a party from work today and literally everyone was drinking. I left after a couple of hours when people started to get drunk. The smell of alcohol was terrible as well.

That being said, I missed being part of the crazy fun. I used to be one of them. Now I feel more like an outsider in such parties. I try to partake but it isn't easy.

Anyway I didn't drink. Time to go to bed.

Nice job. I know how hard that kind of situation can be.

I'm sorry you felt like an outsider. As someone whose family and friend groups is full of binge drinkers, I know that feeling well.

What works for me has always been leaving when I feel like it. I've also set boundaries with loved ones, which helped me prevent being in many -- but not all -- difficult situations. And my wife, kid, and I do a lot of fun, active stuff -- and more and more, people we know want in on that, which helps a ton.

Anyway, you're a champion. Way to go!

Thank you for your very friendly response! Much appreciated.

Yes, I was saying to my wife, if I had been drinking I probably would have fun. But I would have to spend a lot on an uber, get home drunk, and have a hangover all day. Now I am feeling great and I can do fun things with the family.

Take care.

Sure thing. Sounds like you really thought it through. I'm gonna borrow a page from your book during a slippery situation tomorrow. Thanks!
