MAS*H was made in the 70s about a war in the 50s. that's the equivalent of making a comedy about the US invasion of Iraq after 911 today. (sh.itjust.works)

It was made while the Vietnam war was still going on and was using the Korean war as a "cover" for commentary on the Vietnam war that it might otherwise have not been able to make.
