I find it really annoying when browsers waste vertical space, especially with most laptops being 16:9 which is stupid.
Plus most desktops default to a needlessly fat dock/launcher at the bottom.
True, I usually enable the autohide so it wouldn't take any space unless I actively bring the mouse to the bottom of the screen.
I find it more convenient to move this dock on the left side of the screen and shrink it down to a very thinner one. Then it only occupies a few pixels horizontally, which results in just a bit narrower windows.
That's true, Ubunto did it as their default for years, and it works pretty well.

Is this a Mac shortcut? I've never used a Mac before.
Yes, it's Option-Command-D.
Neat. I tend to forget Mac keyboards have different keys. What happens if you plug in an ordinary PC keyboard into a Mac? Does it automatically map the Control and Alt keys to Mac ones or do you need to do something in the menus?
No idea haha. Last time I had a Mac was over 20 years ago.
