I've just found, and subscribed to this magazine. I look forward to conversations here. And in the meantime, I'm rooting for the striking workers at Kaiser Permanente.

A lot of forums related to healthcare have not yet transferred over from 'the other place'. I'm hopeful that we're still in the midst of transition, and that a robust healthcare related community will arise, having left behind a lot of the intrusive trolling that was previously the norm, 'over there'.

That's what we're hoping to work towards, and hopefully this community can help people navigate the different communities. Once things are set up, we're going to work on growing the communities and bring in more people from other forums/spaces.

Healthcare forums have unique needs, which I think an open Fediverse platform can really help with. For example, researchers and professionals on Mastodon can follow and use the forums here, which wasn't possible back on Reddit. Fediverse platforms are also more open and accessible by nature, which is especially helpful for healthcare.
