Sadly, I'm sure they wouldn't have any problem finding more "cooperative" mods to replace them if they did

Step 1: Remove the people that closed it Step 2: Put new mods in place (probably just gonna be alt admin accounts not labeled as such) Step 3: Profit or some shit like that

Wouldn't even have to be alt admin accounts probably, sadly there are always folks who just want the "power" that being a mod brings, and would love to take over an already popular subreddit
