Sounds like an opportunity for the DIYers out there to come up with solutions, look like heroes and make Apple look bad.
There's unfortunately no good solution to "you have to access the board through the front and we glued the screen on"
I don't know about that. When I worked at a repair shop we had tons of tools specifically for melting glue without harming the hardware. I've melted the adhesive that holds together ipad minis with a specialty heat plate. Apple for sure needs to get their shit together and make user serviceable devices, but there's always a way around their bullshit.
