Okay. But humour me for a second... what if everything wasn't politics? What if there was some place we could go to forget real-world worries and laugh at some funny pictures for a while?
Same argument nazis use to justify removing pride from video games. Not cutting it.
Escapism and censorship are different things and I think they were suggesting the former. Turning your head off for a while after a day of politics or activism is very important for my mental health sometimes. As I understand them, that's what they meant at least. If not, meaning they're for strictly prohibiting political things in any way I would agree that this would be bad though!
You're giving them way too much credit on not being reprehensible pieces of shit. The escapism argument is always horseshit masking bigotry.
