Do you ever get this fear that all of this optimism will ultimately bear no fruit? That, to put in specific terms, we'll have won no premier league titles or UCl trophies 5 years into the future?
Yes, Arsenal are the hottest project in Europe with exceptionally talented young players but we haven't really improved this season. I don't expect Havertz to ever become an impact player, since the entirety of his role on the pitch is "Supportive" instead of direct. Timber isn't coming back before March.
Declan is doing very well but he's not in charge of creating attacking chances. Odegaard's left foot bias is painful to watch and how a counter attack opportunity dies as soon as it has to go through him gives me no hope.
Maybe it's my anxiety getting the better of me. Either way, I don't get paid to worry about the club's performances.
Honestly? I don't really care; I've lived my whole life with us having won no PL or UCL titles. I just want to watch some good football, and enjoy the highs and lows that come with it. Trophies would be great, but as long as we can keep our players I don't really mind.
Like, obviously I want trophies. But, if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. If all I cared about were trophies, I'd watch City. That being said, I do hope we keep up the Arsenal brand of football, cuz there have been games where we have just looked kinda stale and unfun to watch ngl
