Why link to an existing discussion on Hacker News? We want the discussion to happen here, not over there.

Well, because it's the community for HackerNews, an already established site with a user base and an active discussion. Although I'd love to have the discussions here, linking to the overall larger community there would lead to better debate/discussion just from the shear number or users and available opinions/expertise.

Someday I hope we have as committed a user base and then HackerNews can link to it's Lemmy counterpart
