we defund the police and abolish prisons.

This isn't an explicit short term goal of ML's. The abolishment of capitalist systems, and the creation of institutions more correctly directed at justice and rehabilitation, yes.

Socialist police and jails are still a thing.

Abolish capitalist police and and prisons, absolutely.
