Ergonomic, split and other weird keyboards
Posts must be of/about keyboards that have a clear delineation between the left and right halves of the keyboard, column stagger, or both. This includes one-handed (one half doesn't exist, what clearer delineation is that!?)
i.e. no regular non-split¹ row-stagger and no non-split¹ ortholinear²
¹ split meaning a separation of the halves, whether fixed in place or entirely separate, both are fine.
² ortholinear meaning keys layed out in a grid
No excessive posting/"shilling" for commercial purposes. Vendors are permitted to promote their products/services but keep it to a minimum and use the [vendor] flair. Posts that appear to be marketing without being transparent about it will be removed.

I just built this Ergodone over the weekend to replace the JJ40 Planck that I use at work. I really needed the number / symbol row, since I still have trouble remembering where the symbols are even after using the Planck for two years.
I actually use the Colemak layout, but I leave the keycaps as qwerty, since admin level powershell only likes qwerty, and some of the remote servers I go into don't retain my keyboard settings. Then I can just look down and see where the keys are.
How long does something like this take to get used to?
A split, like maybe an hour
A split ortho, probably a day or so
A 40% split ortho without a number row (like corne, cantor, etc) a couple of weeks.
I've already been using an ortholinear layout on my Planck keyboards for about two years, and I touch type, so it only took me an hour or two to really get used to it. I'm planning on changing around a few of the keys, but it's been much less of an adjustment than I originally thought!
