I did this too a couple of months back. I felt so stupid since it was avoidable. Don’t know how it works where you live, but I was able to use my home insurance to get back like 80% of the purchase price, which made replacing it less painful.

Man, check how much it would cost, it's usually so cheap that it's not worth taking a chance that your place burns down and you're left with nothing because your didn't want to spend 20$/month on insurance!
Thank you for being considerate. I have insurance against fire and some other stuff, but didnt pay extra to cover all items I have. I will check again, but afaik normal policies dont cover damage that I caused myself
