You actually wait till the 2 just starts to disappear
I fucking hate that it's this way, ~~my reaction time just isn't fast enough to get anything except mediocre boost.~~ I suck at timing things, especially without explicit prompts and feedback.
Edit: there, I fixed it to be more accurate
It's less about reacting and more about anticipating - learn the timing rather than trying to wait for a moment and then react.
the timing varies slightly by game iirc
