Communism has never worked because every time it's been enacted, it focused on funneling as much wealth to as few people as possible.
Communism is only successful if it reduces the disparity in wealth, not grows it.
Needless to say, any nation that even attempted to do this has been the enemy of the world. Look at Burkina Faso and Cuba for examples.
