Guidelines
These guidelines are suggestions rather than rules. They exist for the benefit of providing the most relevant information to readers in a clear and concise way. This way, you can avoid answering repetitive questions which eventually end up looking like spam. A secondary goal is to preserve people’s time when they are looking for specific information such as trial availability, channels list or pricing. Lastly, keep in mind that people visiting this community may have poor eyesight or suffer from reading disorders, try to be considerate.
Here are the guidelines:
- Write in a clear, readable font.
- Avoid writing in all caps or using fancy fonts.
- Use special characters only when necessary.
- Use emojis sparingly.
- Avoid posting poster images that contain text about your service. Instead, write it down.
- This is important to enable people to discover you through searching.
- Search engines such as Google, Bing or DuckDuckGo will not recognize the text in these posters. Therefore, your post will not show up in the search results.
- The fonts and color contrasts may make it difficult for some people to read.
- Try to anticipate common questions people might ask and include the answers in your post. Some examples are: pricing, accepted payment modes, channels list, VPN compatibility, device compatibility, trial availability.
- Go for simple instead of fancy. If you can make it simpler, you probably should.
- Do not misrepresent your service offering. For example, if you say that you are offering 4K streams, the resolution of the streams should be in 3840 × 2160.
- Avoid using slang such as ‘zap’ or other terms. Some people visiting the community may be new to the world of IPTV and they may not understand these terms.
- Specify how people should contact you. You are free to use any means, but we generally recommend using Lemmy's private messages or secure messaging services such as Signal or Element. Discord is great for managing communities, but it offers limited privacy. If your discord server gets terminated, you will lose the communication channels with all your members. If you must use discord, make sure to back up all your members’ info regularly.
- Use the EDIT button. Edit your post over and over until you are satisfied with the wording.
If you need any help crafting a good post, or you just want a second pair of eyes to take a look at your post, please DM the admin @[email protected], we are always willing to help out with this task.
If the provider supports either m3u links or the xtream codes api, it's going to work for pretty much any IPTV player. Most video players will only support m3u links. The template should be out soon with all the necessary info (including EPG support). Thanks for the feedback.
