This article by the Athletic is long, but anyone who has ever considered themselves a Lions fan will find something relatable to it.

This is a gold standard in writing in my opinion.

Great article! That Green Bay loss in 1993 cut deep. I started following them when they drafted Sanders, and I thought that they would be going to many NFC championship games after losing to the Superbowl champs in 91. My friends have told me to root for a different team for years, but I'm a glutton for punishment. I still proudly wear my 2008 preseason champions shirt I got before they went 0-16. I'm just glad that I will get to enjoy a competitive team this year. It's the most confident I've been in the team in 30 years. While I don't think that they will get to the Superbowl this season, I think that they will have a really good shot at it in 24 and 25 when these 3 draft classes mature, and Holmes has $60 million to spend in free agency.
