Menopause

'Menopause isn't really that bad'...said no woman ever.

For those who are approaching or experiencing 'the change' (think reverse puberty), a time where hormone levels decline either through the aging process or by medical/surgical means.

Menopause and Perimenopause (the transitional time before Menopause) are unique to every person, and while there's no one-size fits all, we support each other on this roller coaster ride of wacked out hormones, absurd mood swings and random sweaty hot flashes.

Be kind. Be respectful. We are all in this together!

I’ve been on 1 pump Estrogel and 100mg progesterone since April and will be seeing my doc again soon. For the last six weeks I’ve been having more mood swings and just started a full on period after six months. What adjustments should I make for the mood swings, periods, pms symptoms, sore boobs, evening out my moods, swinging energy levels? My hot flashes have all but disappeared and I’m still sleeping through the night, for the most part. But I just don’t feel as good as the first couple of months.

I just increased mine before doctors appointment… I honestly felt like I was going to have a nervous breakdown and couldn’t wait… I noticed a change overnight… I haven’t cried or felt like dying for the past two days and sleeping better, still not great sleep but better sleep and I can function. I upped progesterone to 200mg (I have always been low and I started at 100mg) and I was doing 2 pumps of estrogen gel and upped it to 3…. I definitely feel better than I did and just hope my doctor will rewrite scripts or I’ll be finding a new quickly… it’s the lack of sleep and mental stuff for me, I honestly felt like I didn’t want to live anymore and not kidding, overnight with increase I feel more functioning & not as heavy hearted as I did.
