Welp, there goes the plan to add the MyNumber card to apple wallet. When Tim Cook visited last December he basically said that you can forget about security and mynumber on iPhone if your government mandates side loading of apps.

Wdym, did Apple say they will make EU/JP phones less secure because they have to sideload apps. Or is this because sideloading apps can increase the risk of malware in some situations (Also btw I believe you can already sideload apps for 7 days normally and 1 year with an apple dev licence)

No, apple has to be the one to implement support for government IDs. They can choose not to if they wish.

So your saying sideloading apps can cause ypur government id to be leaked? If so I don't think any phone (apple or android) allow acessing another apps data especially if it is protected by entering pin or password

Yeah that’s bullshit. Macs allowed „sideloading“ since the beginning. You don’t see them claiming the Mac is insecure, do you?
