Most people don't like extremist views. Its jarring for a lot of people when they see people praising dictators and regimes that killed millions of people.
It's easy to point a finger when history says that only 1 person is responsible for this or that... the same could be said about the US or any other country that did atrocities over a larger time period but the one ruled by 1 president... yet those people are heroes, but this 1 particular person in history is really really bad.
Come on, wake up, everyone did their part in destruction around the globe, yet some are considered heroes, others villans.
I know but growing up in the west you pretty much by default support democracy so I dont like seeing people who are supporting people like stalin, Mao, Xi. I also dont like seeing people supporting American imperialism but thats more ingrained in my cultural sphere.
Fine, you don't like seing posts like that? Just block the first 10 communities on lemmygrad.
On the other hand, I enjoy most of their posts, but I can't enjoy them from my main account, or this one, I had to make an account on lemmygard because everyone defederates from them. Now tell me that that is fair. It's basically the same logic that beehaw applied to 2 other instances, but people are pissed off about that, but not this ๐คจ. Why? Just because they're blocked from their favorite communities? Maybe I feel the same about lemmygrad, but not only am I being shunned for it, my question is not even under discussion, it's natural to block tankies, tankies - no no, games - yes please.
You can make an account on an instance that doesn't defed lemmygrad. Host your own or accept that extremist communities will be shunned. Its the same for Nazi's I dont want to block them. I want them blocked by default.
That beats the whole point of having a fediverse...
Fine, I guess this place is just not for me. At least reddit had some good shitposts that I really enjoyed to be honest.
No I disagree. It proves a strength of the fediverse. If it was reddit lemmygrad would be banned and not allowed to exist. but because the fediverse allows communities to moderate themselves lemmygrad can exist and there is still plenty of servers to federate with.
That is your POV, my POV is none should defederate ever... and if I do open my own instance, that will be the one and only rule. Do whatever TF you like, just don't ask to defederate with anyone, we won't have that.
If you open your own instance then no one will defed with you. They will just block you. It sucks but keep your commie shit on your commie instance. When mods on other instances have to keep banning people from your instance you are going to get de-federated. if your mods are pro active in banning users that are causing issues on other instances then that instance wont be de-federated. It seems lemmy doesn't currently have the mod tools to support this line of thinking which is unfortunate.
Ah, yes, the capitalists srike back ๐. Pretty calm until you mention communism or socialism and then everyone comes after you ๐.
Whatever, this just feels like another reddit. Those with power expressing their will on the ones that don't have it. Might as well go back to Reddit, at least there's good shitposts there.
Sorry I didn't mean to be rude that's just how I talk. This is ment to "just be another reddit" except unlike reddit where you have to constantly worry about your community getting wiped off the platform here you can rest assured there's always a place for it.
I don't even have a commuity there... plus, I usually just scroll through linux/dev communities and shitposts, they're never going away.
