Well, I can slip thru the cracks pretty easier, I’m white and a mix of Slavic and Irish so I don’t look especially like either ethnicity. Being Belarussian and part Russian, I’m positive that I’d be viewed as A.) Poor sweet white person who was saved a life of misery by not being born in the East, B.) Ruzzian Orc that probably doesn’t belong in a place of Freedom and Love. Irish have completely integrated tbh, I can’t imagine anyone being openly anti-Irish. That mostly stopped in the early 1900s. That being said, I hear that most “clown” clothing and attire are supposed to be based on Irish immigrants: Clumsy from being drunk, hand-me-down patched up clothes that don’t fit, extra large shoes so they don’t grow out of them, a pale white face makeup and a red nose meant to be Red Capillaries from alcoholism. Granted those are old stereotypes that have mostly disappeared(besides the drinking stereotype) but when I heard that I was pretty shocked. But then I remembered that Minstrel shows used to be a thing so I’m not really totally surprised.
You know that would explain Ronald McDonald as the mascot of McDonalds
