Felt like they were only really big in Japan and the U.K. though. I thought it was such a cool technology, but couldn’t even find one to buy where I grew up.

I still have mine. In a box somewhere in the attic though 😁

Loved mine, worked so much better than a discman on the go. They never got much traction here in the Netherlands though.

In the same period you also had dcc (digital) tapes. Never had one of those myself.
