Games like 'Dusk', 'Amid Evil', and 'Into the Pit' are shining examples of a new FPS subgenre: the "boomer shooter" inspired by games like 'Doom' and 'Quake'.

big fan, mainly by accident and hornyness. Bought Hedon, because the artwork was cool (and the reviews good). Played it three times in a row.

Later got the Boomer Shooter bundle on HB, which is at least a year old now.

I feel like the article is a little late, because many of them are in their secons iteration.

For people who want a more modern look: Severed Sreel.
