I would be honestly shocked if this headline is true. Large corporations, while often making stupid mistakes, still employ basic systems engineering with requirements flowdown and tracking. If gross vehicle weight wasn't one of the key performance parameters when designing the van, this would be the dumbest of mistakes. If the Hummer EV is fine for normal drivers, this thing would have to be built like a tank to top that.
