From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Flashback to 2008 when I wanted a portable PC to play TF2 and WoW and LAN parties. I looked around and all gaming laptops were like 18lbs, had 1.5 hour battery life, and were insanely loud.

Bought a 15” MacBook Pro. Installed Windows on it. Tiny, 5lb machine that’s almost always silent. Dedicated GPU. Better processor than any PC laptop.

Only problem was, it was like 2k moneys.

Hahaha I wish! It had accident protection and had an… unfortunate… sticky… sugar… accident a month before the protection was up.

Got me upgraded to an early 2011 MBP that I still use and love (with 16GB RAM and a SSD, of course.)

These shits last forever. Just wish I could upgrade it past High Sierra. Or figure out an easy way to back up my 160GB of photos. Love this laptop but the lil shit has USB2.
