General interest discussion about Meta's (formerly Oculus') Quest VR platform

I bought a PSVR2 this year and occasionally there are games available on both Quest and PSVR. I was wondering what makes you decide which version to get.

Currently I’m getting multiplayer games on Quest because I don’t want to pay for PSPlus. PSVR has better graphics and the adaptive triggers, which are really nice, but I also find the lense sweetspot quite small and the headset to be less comfortable. And there’s the cable of course. Games that don’t have guns and where the graphics don’t matter as much (BeatSaber for example) I much prefer on Quest.

How do you decide?

I typically buy for Quest since it's cheaper with the 25% codes. If it's graphics heavy game (like after the fall), I make sure they they have cross buy so I can also play the PCVR version.

Ah that’s a fair point, I didn’t consider cross buy, as my PCVR setup is very barebones and for me it’s mostly PSVR or Quest.

The 25% come in quite handy. I often buy in another currency, which makes it cheaper (I’m normally paying in euro), but there seems to be a bit of a crackdown on that lately. I used to buy in the UK, but lately been getting error messages when trying to do so, Canada still works for me.

I definitely like nice graphics, but I’m generally more focused on performance. I don’t mind it too much if the game doesn’t look as good, but runs smooth. Sadly that hasn’t been the case with quite a few games lately, walking dead 2 was supposed to run quite badly on quest so I went for psvr there. I find ghosts of tabor unplayable on quest, hopefully that’ll all be better with quest 3…
