One of this days I will find where to buy in my country dashi or kombu and bonito flakes (or dehydrated bonito) to make this dish.

No Asian food stores or section at the grocery store?
Could also probably order it online

My country sucks. It also severely lacks an Asian population to have an Asian store, that sells Asian goods. The last part is probably more important than the first point, but both relevant all the same.

Get a steak and cut it yourself. This shouldn't be hard but requires a bit of patience.

I usually get some from the local Asian food market, from the butcher or at the grocery store and cut it down myself. Some grocery stores will cut it for you as well, but if you need to pick up some meat and cut it yourself it isn’t hard if you’re careful. The nice thing is that it’ll work with with basically anything
