Yeah exactly, you're misinformed.

As soon as you use Tor Browser (which you won't try), it'll lock you your account until you give them your phone number and an OTP sent to that number.

We’re not discussing anything that requires that level of privacy

For some people, everything requires privacy. For some people, they can't access the Internet without services like Tor.

You're being intentionally dismissive of folks at-risk. That harms our community.

I'm not talking about TOR

Edit: repeatedly editing your comments with no indication that you've done so after I've replied sucks

Edit2: literally just don't use the discord then???? This is a discord community that decided to make a lemmy comm. If anything I'm increasing access to ppl who don't want to use discord. I'm not harming the community by doing this wth

Or you could literally just use Matrix instead? Like most people on Lemmy use??

Because it's better for folks who live in oppressive regimes and need to use Tor to safely browse the internet?

What's the problem with using this lemmy??

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 years ago (1 children)

No problem with using Lemmy. Lemmy is great! I'm writing from Tor Browser now with a throwaway email.

The problem is Discord.

Again, no one is forcing you to use the discord
