Hiya! There weren’t many VTuber communities on here, so I wanted to make one specifically for indie VTubers. My intention is to create a space where creators can discuss, ask questions, and promote their stuff, but viewers are also welcome!

Feel free to say hi here and to talk about yourself and what kind of streams you do. I’d love to watch and meet more streamers! :)

If you have questions/suggestions for the community, drop it in here too!!

No problem! Is there anything in particular you're looking for (finding 2D/3D models, streaming advice, debuts, etc)?

What kind of software do people use? Do you know of anyone using a game engine for the avatar tracking, like Unity or Unreal? I'm curious about doing something like that. Any resources/communities on the technical side of it would be appreciated!

Edit: Thanks for your answers everyone! will check out the options!

Vtuber studio is best for the task. It's intuitive and easy to use. Give it a shot

For 2D avatars, I agree with what kionite said! VTube Studio is a great program that has a lot of good features and the tracking is great (iPhone tracking works best for it imo). If you want to get into making 2D models, I'd suggest taking a look at Live2D Cubism and if you want a discord community with more resources, take a look this one that's being handled by Brian Tsui (who's a great rigger).

I'm not sure about Unity/Unreal, that sounds more like 3D model stuff, which I don't really know that well. I don't think people have used that for avatar tracking, but sometimes people use it to modify 3D models?

For 3D you either want VNyan or VseeFace to start off. Both can handle VRM formal, which if you want to get started, a program called Vroid Studio (Which is free on Steam) can make them with ease.
