Many do, however the majority are complacent or don't. Plus the mechanism of government grinds slowly. Consider donating time or money to local or regional non profit groups working on ocean conservation and restoration. DM me if you'd like help identifying legitimate ones
Absolutely couldn't agree more. Live greener, contact your politicians and become active with your local Environmental groups. I think it would be great if you mention how to find people/groups here for everyone to see!
It does feel like that but I care in my small way, it's all we can do is make small changes and contact our representatives. I've linked a template letter you can send to your representative or MP in my comment on this post.
Representatives don’t give a shit unless a corporation bankrolling them tells them to change their opinion.
While this is true in the sense that they are usually swayed by money. Local elections and representatives are important and often listen more to people contacting them as they need the support and are closer to the ground. In essence these people arent elected without public support, so make your opinions known to them.
