Dresser for my daughter. Fashioned after Norm Abrams' dresser from The New Yankee Workshop in the 1990's. I made one for myself back then and now making one for her and her family.
I've been watching some of those episodes again since they are on youtube now. I grew up watching them with dad and hope to do the same with my son.
Compared to current YT videos for woodworking they don't have a list of all the things used in the video. It would be helpful for my build since Norm does not specify which "sealant" he is using to coat the unstained parts, nor which stain conditioner to prevent blotching. But I got into woodworking with this series and I made several items.
Yeah the lack of specific products is very much a characteristic of those sort of shows. Which as I understand was related to Bob Vila's exit from TOH. I wonder if some of the products are no longer available at this point anyway.
I also moved out of the US, and the products I do remember are not sold here. I even went to several stain suppliers and they had not even heard of things like a pre-stain conditioner, or generic "sealer". I am making do, but wish he had just been more specific like "use a polyurethane finish diluted to seal the unstained inside components".
