Is Lemmy a good option for the Deaf Community? (lemmy.nz)

Are we able to post videos or images in the comments? I know that you can post a video in the post such as a sign language video, but are people able to respond with a video comment in sign language?

This will be a big deal breaker for the Deaf Community. At the moment the only option for many Deaf people is to use Facebook.

Lemmy isn't the best in regards to the death community when compared to mastodon that has accessibility built into the community values. But it, as far as I know, has the ability to do what you ask should the admin allow it. For that reason, I would suggest starting an instance, that way you can support video uploads, etc. Worst case scenario, you'll have to host your videos on a third party service.
