Son found this on the beach and is adamant its something special.

About the size of a lump of coal with glass like speckals.

It's likely to be gabbro, a very common type of rock I'm afraid. Doesn't mean it can't be special to him!

Yip definitely gabbro.

OP, the light/ white mineral is plagioclase the dark almost black mineral is pyroxene.

If you look at it in sunlight anything with a dark green colour is probably Olivine
