Compulsory purchase of Centrica then dropping prices for British energy retailers might do it. Right to buy for private tenants might do it. It would smash a hole in Hunts buddies unearned profits, though, so maybe he can't see it quite as clearly as a good thing for the country.

You're completely right. These kind of actions is what it would take to make a difference.

Or even following up with the house insulation program we need to be doing anyway and bring back domestic solar incentives

Yeah, it's almost as if making policy that's only in the interests of big business means we give them more of our hard earned cash.
