They managed to release an app without the material you themed icon in 2023. thats basically basically one line to add in an xml file.
They can train ai models but cant do that
Also they are like 0 features more than the webpage. They may add payment through google at some point but right now I dont see the point in using the app.
I'm disappointed we don't have the cool haptic feedback while it types out a response. That was the only interesting part about the iOS app.
It also doesn't seem to support Code Interpreter, which I have access to.
Edit: Only certain devices support the haptic feedback. Doesn't work from my S23U. https://help.openai.com/en/articles/8144762-haptic-feedback-in-the-chatgpt-android-app
I think it's really neat even though I often turn down or disable haptic feedback elsewhere. It's hard to explain but with the iOS ChatGPT app it feels more lively. With that said, I'm not sure how much of that has to do with the vibration motor in my work iPhone XR.
Most Android phones have such trashy vibration motors so I think its for the best. They may be good in high end phones but those aren't the majority.
My S23 Ultra isn't bad :(.
