@[email protected] i think it'd be very intensive in terms of disk and network usage. Not only for the r/place-like host, but also for other Fediverse server admins.
Why would you write this to disk? RAM can easily hold a 1megapixel bmp
I was supposing the "place" would rely on ActivityPub, if so the messages sent to the "place" server would be stored by servers running on other platforms.
