What a completely bullshit article. It assumes the only consideration in buying an EV is which charging standard is default. It even says "Sure, adapters exist," then moves on like that doesn't invalidate the argument. Oh, and let's not even mention that Teslas are the most recalled car in existence. But yeah, only consider a Tesla.
Using the recall metric is a bit misleading when the majority of recalls is software addressable and done over the air. Being an owner of a Model Y I can say you have nothing to worry about. The newer models are alot more reliable than the older ones (I owned an early Model S (2014) before).
Keep in mind that it's the same metric for all the companies, though EVs probably have a lot more software.
My point with that comment was simply that there are a lot of factors someone might consider when buying an EV, and the kind of charge port isn't the whole of it.
