I feel like Fediverse users are nicer to each other and more generous with upvotes than reddit.

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The best ones are thoughts that many people can relate to and they find something funny or interesting in regular stuff.
Technically a verbal compliment is faker than an upvote (a visual sign of approval) because at least the visual approval hasn't fizzled out of existence after being used. So since a compliment and an upvote are sort of similar, shouldn't we treat an upvote somewhat similarly to how we treat compliments?
