This sub is supposed to be something I and my brother-in-law writing down for my daughter as something we give her when she is 18. Advices, thoughts, etc. if I could make this private, I would.

You shouldn't gloat over other's misfortune. However, usually "I told you so" moments aren't by chance. Especially when it's striking you enough to make a post about it.
