People are recommending good European brands
which you should definitely check out!
but I'd like to also recommend buying second-hand.
It's cheaper, better for the environment, and you don't have to worry about supporting American companies; Even if you buy from an American brand (Wrangler, Levi's...), the money is going straight to a fellow European citizen and to whatever platform/website you buy it from, so you just have to make sure to use a European platform such as Vinted.
It might not be as convenient as buying straight from the brand, but it is better.
I agree with this, but would like to admit that buying second-hand stuff online could and should be a nicer experience.
Either the platforms (like the aforementioned Vinted) don't have proper search or filters, for example for sizes of pants or the payment options are bad. Or the users are unable or unwilling to provide helpful information about the items they want to sell. For example, the specification of different sizes, spelling mistakes when specifying the model/brand, blurred photos.
I must admit that I don't have much experience with buying second-hand.
My purchases so far have been 3 jeans, all of which were well-advertised, reasonably priced, and the sellers were all great. My one experience as a seller was also pretty reasonable: a buyer asked for a discount, I took too long to respond, they sent me a nice message saying they weren't interested anymore; a second buyer asked for extra measurements, I provided them, they asked for a discount, I did it, and it was bought immediately. I simply can't complain!
I've heard others' complaints, though, so I know you're not alone in your qualms. Payment options are a big deal for me... Vinted doesn't support Portugal's national system, which is a pain in the ass...
Can confirm. Of course you can't really expect to always find the thing you are looking for, especially if you need a certain size. But I got lucky and found nice quality jeans on a very good deal for 9€.
9€ is kinda crazy, wow...
Yeah it was in a store in my city and originally the price was double that which was still very good. But they had a sale since they were probably wanting to get rid of stuff and everything was 50% off.
