Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.

I started using Jeboa about a day and a half ago, no problem. It defaulted to lemmy.ml rather than lemmygrad.ml. No problem as I was browsing anon just to see how I liked the app.

Now, when I open the app, nothing is loaded, and changing from local to all still loads nothing.

Is this a problem with lemmy.ml? How can I change instances.

I'm a newbie, so maybe take with a grain of salt, but I think unlike Mastodons current functions, switching instances is currently not possible. Maybe it'll be in the future? Again, I could be very wrong, but thought I read such earlier.

That's correct. You currently cannot port your user account to another instance. You need to sign up again at the new instance of your choice. I hope this feature is coming because it seems like a real limiter for early adopters who don't understand the system and are advised to just pick any instance.

Yeah... I'm pretty lucky that Lemmy.ml was already overburdened when I followed that advice. Hopefully Lemmy.World continues strong. 💪 That said, just starting over might be easier for some folks than the Mastodon-style instance swap mechanism...
