I think it's important to have a non-reddit preppers forum, and lemmy seems like a good option. It may just take time to grow, but what harm does it do to just keep this around?
Without seeing that exodus I bascially agree with you. But to be realistic, we set this about 2 years ago.
For example a major reddit community I was with, decided to go with telegram instead of something sane like matrix ๐ฌ I fear lemmy is -for now- simply and sadly not first choice.
In a sentiment of creating an easy landig page I posted Lemmy at a glance.
The post might be useful for onboarding friends and stranges.
