For YouTube on android you can also use grayjay or revanced to set subscriptions as your home page!
(This is about a section in the video, not just a random non-sequitur ๐ )
in newpipe you don't log into youtube. so minimal data harvesting.
I like the fork pipepipe since it has sponsorblock and also let's you use a YouTube account only for accessing age restricted videos, since YouTube disabled that for people without accounts.
Grayjay can work that way (optionally) too. Its pretty cool there are now a number of great ways to interact with YouTube that give users more agency! ๐
Invidious is also a thing, though I haven't used it much
