i think of respect as a social contract; if you have basic respect for others then you also get respect from me, if you don't then you don't. exaggerating that and pretending conservatives are oppressed is ridiculous. conservative's actions and opinions are just harmful and people call you out on it. it's not like you're getting mass deported or jailed. the negative consequences that conservatives in america do face right now mostly come from their own god emperor who decided that actually poor people (including conservatives) should just die.
Those quotes were hardly exaggerated. You see these sentiments everywhere. How do you expect a voting block to respond to years of death threats, doxxing, riots, two assassination attempts on their candidate, and a media empire trying to convince them they deserve all these things? The Left got itself pushed aside politically in America because of this insanity.
If you want to find out why this happened, then forget the buzzwords and talk to people in good faith. The more memes like this and comments like yours are posted, the worse your problem will become. The Left and the Right exist in parallel universes right now precisely because of this rhetoric.
