Hey silly, I'm only talking about hand washing this one singular hypothetical cup in this fucking meme not my entire damn dish rack.
Do you have any idea how many cups/mugs/plates/pans say this? Most of my dishes are not "dishwasher safe". Only a couple have had any issues with it.
Similarly, look at how many of your clothes are incredibly delicate according to the tag. It's erring on the side of extreme caution, and to provide a defense if it's a piece of shit that falls apart.
Not sure what clothes you're wearing/buying, but every single piece I own says it will do fine with 40°C and tumble drying, except for my suits (I have two, not a closet full), which is not exactly delicate handling.
But then this cup requires (approximately) ten times the amount of water to clean than the average cup.
Ah, point made. The solution is to shatter the cup against my diabetic monitor, toss it into another sprawling enormous landfill and drop ship another cheap replacement.
See that's the thing, usually the mugs that require hand washing are the cheap drop shipped crap
Mugs that are dishwasher safe are so because the manufacturer spent the extra 0.0003 cents per mug for the extra sealant layer to protect the artwork against it and tested it to ensure it can stand up to the dishwasher and started with quality materials to begin with
Those cheap crap mugs skimp out on that layer or 2, testing and use the cheapest base materials they can find
The solution is to use it as a decoration piece
Nude Shrek mug as the main decoration piece
